A shorter travel trail bike able to jump into the odd cross country race, Scott’s Spark 930 is a clean, versatile ride that perfect for Texas trails.
First thing is the slick rear suspension. The Spark 930 offers 120mm rear/130mm front suspension, with Scott’s Twin Lock system, allowing you to remotely lock both shocks with one lever, or even run things half open.
Because Scott was able to move the rear suspension inside the downtube, you’re able to ride with two bottle cages on the frame. A small, but valuable, addition for anyone who rides year round.
The rear shock is easily accessed through a port in the bottom of the down tube for maintenance, while the seals are protected from dust & dirt. There are even handy markers on the frame to set proper sag without having to access the shock. It’s a good system, that seems to have been well thought out.
Throw in a dropper post, some burly Schwalbe tires, and a nice Shimano SLX/XT parts spec, and you’ve got a highly capable bike sporting modern mountain bike geometry.
If you’re in the market, swing by. We’re sitting on a few sizes of this all-rounder.
